Community Brand Strategy
Newmarket’s Community Brand Strategy is underway, and we need your help!
The Town of Newmarket is encouraging residents to provide feedback on an important community branding strategy that will help set Newmarket away from different municipalities, enhance its reputation as a ‘must visit’ community in Ontario and beyond, and continue to put Newmarket on the map.
A survey is now open seeking the community's valuable insights on the perceptions and personality of Newmarket and what makes it unique. Participants will be entered into a draw to win 1 of 10 $25 Choose Local gift cards. The survey will close on December 19, 2024.
Newmarket's community brand strategy will bring Newmarket to the forefront of the hearts and minds of key talent throughout the GTA and beyond for many years to come by:
Enhancing the quality of life for current and future residents
Boosting economic growth by attracting leading businesses and talent
Enriching the local arts and culture scene
Project Background:
Newmarket’s community brand strategy is built on best practices and innovations in economic development, marketing, city branding, and placemaking. The town is partnering with MMGY, an award-winning global leader in community branding and marketing. Alongside a comprehensive survey, MMGY is conducting one-on-one conversations with hundreds of community members and groups to gain a deeper understanding of Newmarket and all that it has to offer.
Creating a differentiating brand strategy and implementation plan for Newmarket is one of the action items under Council’s five priorities, as part of the priority to advance Community and Economic Vibrancy. The goal is to strengthen Newmarket’s reputation as a vibrant place to live for entrepreneurs, artists, and knowledge workers, building a strong local and innovative economy.
