Introducing the members of the Dismantling Anti-Black Racism Advisory Committee
The Town of Newmarket is pleased to introduce the members of the newly formed Dismantling Anti-Black Racism Advisory Committee:

Following a community recruitment and application process, members were appointed by the Selection Committee which consisted of three members of the Black Community, with one position held by the Chair of the Newmarket African Caribbean Canadian Association (NACCA).
The Dismantling Anti-Black Racism Advisory Committee is a foundational role in supporting Town staff and Council in taking action to dismantle anti-Black racism in Newmarket.
Over the two-year term, members will share their diversity of perspectives to help strengthen the Town’s connection to Black communities, provide input and support to the Town on addressing anti-Black racism and work with the Town to provide joint progress reports to Council on the Town of Newmarket’s progress in dismantling and eliminating Anti-Black Racism.
