On Monday, September 23, a production team will be filming a scene in a TV series along Main Street from Millard Avenue to Botsford Street. This one-day production will bring revenue from the film permits and fees for the Town and its businesses along Main Street.
About the shoot:
Date: Monday, September 23
Time: 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
Location: Main Street South from Millard Avenue to Botsford Street
Scene Description: The storefronts at 193-197 Main St South will be set dressed to resemble an abandoned “library.” The scene involves six actors driving south in the northbound lane of Main St South in a van, parking near the “library,” and proceeding down the adjacent alleyway/driveway (Doug Duncan Drive).
Parking closures and disruptions
Parking spaces will be reserved for the project, including:
Approximately 12 on-street parking spaces on Main Street South from Millard St. to Botsford St.
3 on-street parking spaces on Botsford St.
Production vehicles and trailers will be located in the temporary gravel lot near P3.
Northbound traffic on Main Street between Botsford St. and Millard Ave. will be stopped intermittently throughout the day to allow for filming. York Regional Police will manage the traffic stops which will be approximately 3 minutes.

Market Square
All parking lots east of Main Street (P1, P3 and P7) surrounding Riverwalk Commons
Fairy Lake
Other street parking on Main Street (following 30-minute parking limits)
Street parking on Church St.
All Our Kids (AOK) Park
Gorman Pool

A portion of the revenue from film production in the Town's downtown core will be dedicatedto support future downtown-related initiatives in partnership with the Main Street District Business Improvement Area (BIA).
This By-law requires that any person wishing to film within Newmarket obtain a film permit through the Town’s Licensing Division. In addition to the requirement to obtain a film permit, this By-law requires that any person participating in a film project comply with a number of regulations.
