Old Main Street Reconstruction - Notice of Enbridge Gas Relocation Work
Dear Resident,
The Town of Newmarket is continuing design work for the planned capital infrastructure improvements on Old Main Street, between Bexhill Road and the Main Street North Bypass. These upgrades are required to urbanize the roadway and bring it up to current Engineering Design Standards.
What is happening on my street?
To prepare for upcoming roadway reconstruction, the Town is working with Enbridge Gas and their subcontractor to complete the gas relocation work on Old Main Street.
What can I expect from this work?
Pre-inspection and gas relocation work is scheduled to begin the week of June 1, 2026 and be completed mid-July. Working hours will be Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. During this time, residents may notice some construction noise, debris related to the work, and some construction traffic. Access for emergency vehicles and garbage/recycling will be maintained at all times, and the Town will make every effort to limit disruption to the neighbourhood.
