Pony Drive Resurfacing Project

The Pony Drive Reconstruction and Local Road Resurfacing Project has begun and is expected to be completed by the end of summer 2024

Why is this work being done?

The purpose of the Pony Drive reconstruction project is to re-build the road and road base, which is in poor condition. The project will also include improvements to the drainage system, and the addition of a new concrete sidewalk on the north and east side of the road.

What will the work entail?

This work will include reconstruction of the road and road base on Pony Drive within the area shown in the figure below. Within all work areas, including Pony Drive, Ringwell Drive, and Kerrisdale Boulevard, the Town will replace asphalt and repair damaged curbs and sidewalks. See map below for details.

Will there be disruptions?

The project will require the disruption of traffic on the street in order to dig up and replace the road and road base. Traffic controls will be in place to allow for access to all buildings during construction.

The Town of Newmarket will work with the contractor to minimize the disruption to businesses in the area.
