Shining Hill Official Plan Amendment

16250, 16353 & 16450 Yonge Street are the lands proposed to be re-designated.

In response to an Official Plan Amendment application submitted by Shining Hill Estates Collection Inc., a process has begun to consider the long-term vision for these lands, located in the southwest area of the Town known as 16250, 16356 and 16450 Yonge Street.

The amendment seeks to allow portions of the lands of be developed for urban uses such as a mix of residential, institutional, commercial, office, parks and open spaces uses.

The map above shows the approximate place of the proposed land use changes where the urban uses would be located.

The land owner is proposing to develop parts of this area for urban uses such as residential, commercial, parks, and roads. The woodlots are proposed to be protected.

    Why reward speculators?

    The owner bought the land knowing the land use designation. Any change would just reward this person and fuel other speculators. Not to mention the environmental impact and impact on the watershed.
