Bathurst and Davis Multi-Use Path & Davis Drive Sidewalk Project
The Town of Newmarket is constructing a new Bathurst Street and Davis Drive Multi-Use Path (MUP) and sidewalk construction on Davis Drive.
The multi-use path will be constructed on Bathurst Street between Woodspring Avenue and Davis Drive which will continue east along Davis Drive to Bulmer Crescent. The project also includes construction of a sidewalk on Davis Drive between McGregor Farm Trail and Crossland Gate. See map below for more details.
Work is expected to begin July 21 until December 2025 and will be completed by Powcon Inc.
What to Expect
- Construction will occur in two phases:
- Phase 1 includes the Multi-Use Path along Bathurst Street and Davis Drive
- Phase 2 includes the sidewalk construction on Davis Drive
- Periodic lane closures will be required and will be permitted during non-peak hours only from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Pedestrian detour signs will be installed and maintained throughout the duration of the project.
- Typical work hours will be from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- Some work may occur on weekends, depending on construction requirements.
Project Benefits
Once complete, the Bathurst Street Multi-Use Path and the Davis Drive Sidewalk will provide critical linkages for existing neighbourhoods and enhances the existing town network of multi-use paths and sidewalks. The new Multi-use Path and Sidewalk will also provide a safe and accessible space which will support many types of active transportation.
