Update: The first phase of the the Cedar Street electrical work by NT Power is now complete. Stay tuned for more information on the second phase which includes installing heritage lights.

Newmarket-Tay Power (NT Power) will undertake electrical improvements along Cedar Street. The work will focus on converting all overhead wires on Cedar Street to underground and installing heritage lights along the street.

  • When: January 2 to 31, 2024
  • General Working Hours: Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This work is important and will help decrease power outages caused by inclement weather such as ice storms, freezing rain, and snow events while continuing to revitalize Newmarket’s award-winning Main Street. The installation of heritage lights will occur later in 2024 and is not part of this work phase.
