Consultation has concluded
The Town of Newmarket is looking to review the Fence By-law. Our aim is to modernize the By-law to ensure it continues to meet the needs and standards of our community. These standards should ensure that fences in Newmarket contribute to a welcoming and safe community, while allowing residents some flexibility with their property.
The Town looks at by-laws holistically and continually updates them. With the spring and summer seasons approaching, the Town felt this is a great opportunity for us to update our bylaw, as it is the perfect time for residents to redo their fences. Staff have also received several variances from residents and the previous by-law did not include privacy screens. With that being said...
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
The Town is hosting a drop-in Public Information Centre (PIC) regarding the potential changes to the Fence By-law on Thursday, March 7 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the foyer of the Municipal Offices (395 Mulock Drive).
If you cannot make it to the PIC, please take the time to respond to our survey questions as we welcome all feedback!
