Notice of Public Information Centre (PIC) about the upcoming Elvidge Trail Parkette - detailed design and Construction
The Town of Newmarket is developing a new parkette which will be constructed near the north end of Elvidge Trail. We would like to invite you to an upcoming virtual public information centre (VPIC) to learn more about the project and provide your feedback on Thursday, November 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The work includes:
- New Playground: Junior and senior climbers, slide, swings, sensory panel.
- Site Furniture: Shade structure, seating, bike rack, waste receptacle, gates

Surfacing:
- Engineered safety playground mulch pit
- Accessible concrete ramps
- Concrete Sidewalk extension
- Concrete paved open area

Landscaping:
- Tree transplanting
- Curbed garden beds
- Armour stone retaining wall
- Tree and shrub buffer planting
- Grass and native plant seeding
The work is expected to start in summer 2026, with construction planned to be completed by December 2026 weather permitting.
The Town of Newmarket is asking residents to get involved and participate in a Public Information Centre (PIC) to learn more about the Elvidge Trail Parkette.
