Newmarket has started construction on the new Haskett Park Trail and Breathing Space located along the east side of 230 Davis Drive, adjacent to Davis Drive Boulevard. The accessible trail component will lead from Davis Drive to the refuge island on Queen Street.

The project consists of a plaza area along Davis Drive, and an accessible fully lit multi-use asphalt trail for walking, cycling, and other active uses which links Davis Drive to Queen Street and Haskett Park beyond. Please see the map below for more information.

Construction is expected to be completed by December 2025 with restoration works in late spring early summer 2026.

Construction will occur Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will occasionally occur on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to ensure the December completion date.

The 230 Davis Drive driveway entrance will be used as the official construction access to the site. The driveway will remain open for regular vehicular use and will be maintained by the contractor. Please be aware of any construction vehicles entering and exiting the driveway. If necessary, the contractor may have flaggers out to help direct traffic flow at the driveway entrance.

Full construction is expected to begin as early as the week of April 14, 2025, with an anticipated completion by late Fall 2025, subject to weather and site conditions. Planting and restoration works may be completed in late spring early summer 2026.

Construction will occur Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and may occasionally occur on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The safety of all residents and workers is of the utmost importance. At the end of each day, the Contractor will leave the site safe and secure. Please do not enter the construction area and keep a safe distance away from all construction operations. While we understand that children may be curious about the construction activities, however, we request parents make every effort to keep children a safe distance away from the construction site.

We apologize for any inconvenience the construction may cause and thank you for your patience while we complete this exciting new project
