Lorne Avenue - Construction Corner Update - Week of August 15th, 2022

As a resident of Lorne Avenue, you have been receiving regular notices from the Town of Newmarket regarding the reconstruction project in your area. Once again, we would like to thank you for your patience and support throughout this time.

Currently, the Contractor is completing road works, including the road base, curb and sidewalks, between Timothy Street and Millard Avenue. Construction of the underground sewer and watermain between Davis Drive and Millard Avenue is now complete. Once testing of the new watermain is finalized, the connections between each property and the new watermain will be installed, and each home will be transferred over to the new system. Phase 2 of the Lorne Avenue project, which extends to Davis Drive, is expected to be completed in December of 2022.

Over the past two weeks:

• Storm sewer and watermain reconstruction was completed on Lorne Avenue from Millard Avenue to the Davis Drive intersection;

• Watermain testing has been completed; and,

• Road building between Park Avenue and Timothy Street has commenced.

Over the next two weeks:

• Road building between Park Avenue and Timothy Street will continue;

• Road building between Park Avenue and Millard Avenue will commence; and,

• Watermain service connections will begin north of Millard Avenue.
