What is the cost to build Mulock Park?

Mulock Park is one of the largest community projects in Newmarket’s history. The construction project is divided into three major components with separate approved budgets:

    • Mulock House - $14.3 million (including state-of-good repair and renovation)

    • Mulock Park - $64.2 million (including 4 new buildings, skate trail, rink/water feature, onsite roads/trails/parking lot, utilities, landscaping and more)

    • Yonge Street Parking Lot - $3.2 million (Off-site parking lot and pedestrian path to the park)

The construction work is funded through development charges, grants, and dedicated reserves, which means the park's construction has no impact on property taxes.

Mulock Park is a long-term investment that will serve Newmarket for generations.

Will the Mulock House be preserved?

Designated under the Ontario Heritage Act, the former home of the Mulock family will be preserved, updated, and re-imagined with a café, restored library, gathering spaces and an art gallery in partnership with the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO).
