Watermain Lining Project: Notice 2 - May 19, 2023

Further to our notice sent to you on February 6, 2023, the Town is hosting a Virtual Public Information Centre (VPIC) on Wednesday May 31, 2023 from 7 to 8 p.m. to inform the public of a watermain lining project located within the Newmarket Heights area (location shown on the back of this notice).

The proposed works include cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lining of the watermain on these streets, fire hydrant replacement, and the reconstruction of pedestrian crosswalks to meet current accessibility standards. The purpose of the VPIC is to notify the public prior to the start of construction, to review the final drawings and to discuss the scope of work and the expected disruptions from construction.

The itinerary for the VPIC is as follows:

• 7 p.m. – Staff introductions

• 7:10 p.m. – Presentation starts

• 7:30 p.m. – Questions and answers

• 8 p.m. – Adjournment

Representatives from the Town’s Engineering Services Department and the consulting engineer on the project (Ainley Group) will be available to answer any questions you may have. This project is expected to start in June 2023, depending on budget, other priorities and a successful tendering
