The consultation on the Old Main Street Tertiary Plan has closed. Staff will be reporting to Council at the beginning of April 2019. Please contact planning@newmarket.ca if you would like additional information.

Newmarket is poised for growth. While the majority of this will occur through the redevelopment of the Davis Drive and Yonge Street corridors, there are still other areas of Town which are facing development interest. One of these areas is the neighbourhood of Old Main Street located between Bexhill Road and the Main street North By-Pass. However, consideration will be given to all publicly and privately-owned lands which are generally bounded by Bexhill Road to the south, the Main Street North By-Pass to the east, properties fronting onto the south side of Dover Crescent to the north, and St. John Cemetery to the west. As such the Town is undertaking an investigation into how much redevelopment can be supported in the area through a Tertiary Plan process and are seeking your input.
