The Town of Newmarket will be undertaking sediment removal from two stormwater management ponds this year. Sediment removal is critical to maintain effective stormwater control and preserving the overall health of aquatic ecosystems.
This pond clean out project encompasses the comprehensive restoration and revitalization of pond 69 (Sydor Court Wetland Pond) and 98 (Bogartown Curve West Pond). Please see the map and images below for more information on the location of the work.
Work is being completed by the Town’s contractor Forest Ridge Landscaping Incand is expected to begin during the week of July 21, 2025 until October 2025.
As with all construction works, residents may experience dust, noise, odour and truck traffic. The Town, and its contractorwill do their best to limit these inconveniences as much as possible.

The clean-out work at Pond Pond 69 – Sydor Court Wetland Pond, and Pond 98 – Bogartown Curve West Pond is ongoing. Due to fall weather conditions and higher than anticipated sediment removal, the project has been impacted by a slight schedule shift of a few weeks. Crews are working diligently to get back on schedule and appreciate your understanding as we complete important maintenance.
