Too much of a good thing
My neighbour has 2 large Norway Maples planted near our property line. As a result my yard is in constant shade and blocks my view of the sky. While I support controls on tree cutting, I hope any new bylaws would take into account the wishes of the property owner with input of neighbours whose property is shaded or encroached by the tree

I also have neighbors with mature trees that block the sun from my backyard . We don't enjoy our back yard because of the trees. I have spoken with the neighbors about getting them trimmed and their response was not pleasant. We all were neighborly with each other for 8 years and because of their trees and asking them to trim the trees we no longer speak to each other. The town of Newmarket has to come up with a solution to this problem. People move into neighborhoods to live a nice neighborly life not to feel uncomfortable when the step outside of their home. I to love trees and feel that trees in subdivisions should not be able to grow above 5 meters. The building lots are getting smaller and the trees are getting bigger. When you live in a subdivision and the trees are taller then your two story house it is time to have the tree removed. All trees have a life span and in the older parts of Newmarket the trees have reached that mark and are now a nuisance. Trees and plants take in 20% 0f the carbon and give 20% of the oxygen while the oceans take in 80% carbon and give 80% oxygen. If people want trees in their backyard plant fruit trees which would really help the animals and humans.
