Gorham Street Resurfacing

The Town of Newmarket has retained IPAC Paving to complete the asphalt resurfacing

of Gorham Street between Leslie Street and Harry Walker Parkway on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

Construction Schedule

• Date: Saturday, August 8, 2026
• Work Start Time: 7 a.m.
• Paving is anticipated to be completed on August 8, 2026, weather permitting.

To prepare for paving operations, the contractor will complete minor preparatory work in advance of paving. This work may include mobilization, roadway adjustments, and traffic control setup. These activities are not expected to impact driveway access; however, motorists are asked to exercise caution when travelling through the work area.

What to Expect During Construction

• Temporary traffic delays and lane restrictions.
• Minor construction-related noise, dust, and vibrations.
• Temporary interruptions to driveway access while asphalt is being placed in front of driveways.
• Heavy construction equipment and trucks operating throughout the work zone.

Important Information

• Please refrain from driving or walking on freshly placed asphalt until the barricades have been removed by the work crews.
• Paving will be completed one lane at a time, with the opposite lane remaining open to traffic. Please follow all traffic control signage and directions from traffic control personnel.
• If access to your driveway or entrance is temporarily restricted during paving operations, crews will restore access as quickly and safely as possible.
• Temporary No Parking restrictions will be in effect during construction hours. We kindly ask that all vehicles be parked off the street to help avoid delays.

The Town appreciates your patience and cooperation while these improvements are being completed. Every effort will be made to minimize inconvenience and complete the work as quickly and safely as possible. If work is delayed due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, paving will be rescheduled to the next suitable construction day.
