As part of the Town of Newmarket's 10-Year Recreation and Capital Plan, Sport Courts at Proctor Park (Primrose Lane) and Environmental Park (Woodspring Avenue) have now been completed and both parks are open to the public.

    The sport courts at Environmental Park and Proctor Park are now open for public use. Please follow the park rules and etiquette onsite.

  • Environmental Park Sport Court Update

    October 2024 - Construction underway. Please note that the site will remain fenced off but the park will remain open. The access through Woodspring is temporarily blocked. Please use the entrance through Gilpin Dr.


    November 2024 - Tree Spalding completed. Asphalt base lift underway.


    December 2024 - Base lift for asphalt is completed. The fence will remain around the court construction area until late spring 2025. If you see any fencing that is knocked down, or you see anyone entering the fenced area, please call the town to open a ticket or send an email to dsakrani@newmarket.ca. Please note that the access through Woodspring will remain closed until the park is completed. Please use the access through Gilpin, which connects to the rest of the park. For your safety, please avoid the construction area.


    April 2025 - Contractor back on site, doing site maintenance. Fences may go down while the contractor cleans up the site. Please note the park is not open.


    May 2025 - Second lift of asphalt underway and to be completed soon. Equipment installation to take place, as well as sod placement.


    June 2025 - Defiency work underway. Please note that the town has to remove nets due to unauthorized access to the courts by young kids. Courts remain closed.


    July 2025 - Contractor back on site conducting deficiency repairs.

    October 2024 - Construction underway. Please note that the site will remain fenced off but the park will remain open.


    November 2024 - Asphalt base lift underway. Please note that the entrance to the park may temporarily be inaccessible for very brief periods during the construction due to large trucks entering and leaving site.


    December 2024 - Base lift for asphalt is completed. The fence will remain around the court construction area until late spring 2025. If you see any fencing that is knocked down, or you see anyone entering the fenced area, please call the town or send an email to dsakrani@newmarket.ca. Please note that the asphalt trail is not maintained in the winter. For your safety, please avoid the construction area.
