The Town of Newmarket is excited for the development of a new trail which will be constructed around the Stackhouse Pond near Stackhouse Road. The work is expected to start summer 2026 and be completed by December 2026, weather permitting.

The work includes:

A New Trail:

  • Approximately 440 m long by 2 m wide
  • Compacted granular surface
  • Concrete pavement through overflow route

Furniture and Fixtures:

  • Seating
  • Waste receptacle
  • P-Gates

Landscaping:

  • Vegetation reduction/removal to open specific viewpoints into the pond
  • Tree and shrub buffer planting
  • Terraseeding with Native seed mix

Parking:

  • 3 to 4 curbside parking spaces (pending approval and confirmation)

The Town of Newmarket is pleased to inform you that a virtual Public Information Centre (VPIC) will be hosted on Monday, December 1st from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. for residents to learn more about the project and to provide their feedback.

When: Monday, December 1st from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

  • 6 p.m. – Staff Introductions
  • 6:10 p.m. – Presentation Start
  • 6:30 p.m. – Questions and Answers
  • 7 p.m. – Adjournment

Where: Virtual Via Zoom. Registration is required. Please RSVP to this meeting via Zoom.
