The Town of Newmarket is reconstructing Aubrey Court from Queen Street to the end of the cul-de-sac including replacement of the aging watermain and installation of a new storm sewer system to improve drainage and reduce flood risk.

The roadway will be rebuilt with new pavement, curb, and gutter while maintaining existing widths, and streetlights will be upgraded throughout.

Overall, the project will modernize infrastructure and urbanize the streetscape to meet current Town standards while improving long-term reliability and safety.

Construction is expected to start Summer 2026.

    Aubrey Court Reconstruction

The Town of Newmarket will be undertaking reconstruction work on Aubrey Court which will consist of watermain, water service improvements and new storm sewers. The road and concrete curbs will also be reconstructed once the underground work is complete.

    Anticipated Schedule

Construction will commence in September with completion scheduled for late Summer 2027. Underground infrastructure work will be completed by the end of this year. Disturbed portions of the roadway will be temporarily patched for the winter, with road reconstruction, concrete, asphalt paving and final restoration anticipated to commence in the Spring 2027.

    Residential Access

Access to Aubrey Court and residential properties will be maintained to the greatest extent possible during construction. Temporary driveway restrictions may occasionally be required, and affected residents will be provided with advance notice. Delivery services and emergency vehicle access will also be maintained.

    Temporary Water Disruptions

To facilitate the change from the old to the new watermain, temporary water shutoffs will also be required at various stages of construction. Residents affected by a planned water shutoff will receive a minimum of 72 hours' advance notice.

    What to Expect

    • The Town and Contractor recognize that construction can be disruptive and will make every reasonable effort to minimize inconvenience. During construction, residents may experience:
    • Construction equipment, dust, vibration and noise associated with construction activities.
    • Garbage, recycling and organics collection will continue as scheduled. If collection procedures change residents will be notified in advance.
    • Construction working hours will be limited to 7am to 7pm

We appreciate that construction sites and equipment can be of an attractive play area for kids after working hours, we kindly ask parents to refrain from allowing their kids to play in the work site. We appreciate your patience and cooperation while these important infrastructure improvements are completed.
