The Town of Newmarket is developing a new parkette which will be constructed near the north end of Elvidge Trail. This work is expected to start summer 2026 and be completed by December 2026 (weather dependent).

The work includes:

  • New Playground: Junior and senior climbers, slide, swings, sensory panel.
  • Site Furniture: Shade structure, seating, bike rack, waste receptacle, gates
  • Surfacing:
    • Engineered safety playground mulch pit
    • Accessible concrete ramps
    • Concrete Sidewalk extension
    • Concrete paved open area
  • Landscaping:
    • Tree transplanting
    • Curbed garden beds
    • Armour stone retaining wall
    • Tree and shrub buffer planting
    • Grass and native plant seeding


The Town of Newmarket is pleased to inform you that a virtual Public Information Centre (VPIC) will be hosted on Thursday, November 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. for residents to learn more about the project and to provide their feedback.

When: Thursday, November 13 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

  • 6:30 p.m. – Staff Introductions
  • 6:40 p.m. – Presentation Start
  • 7:00 p.m. – Questions and Answers
  • 7:30 p.m. – Adjournment

Where: Virtual Via Zoom. Registration is required. Please RSVP to this meeting via Zoom.

Attend to learn more about the project and chat with Town staff and the consulting firm, SHIFT Landscape Architects, about the project. Your feedback matters!
