The Town of Newmarket is conducting infrastructure improvements on Millard Street, Church Street and Elm Street. The work includes:

  • Relining of the Watermain;
  • Minor upgrades and improvements to the sanitary and storm pipes;
  • Sidewalk modifications; and
  • On street parking modifications

The work is expected to start in the summer of 2024, with the majority of construction to be completed to base asphalt by December 2024, weather permitting. Surface asphalt, landscaping features and final restorations will be completed by the end of July 2025.

Upcoming: Public Consultation Centre (PCC) for the Millard/Church/Elm Project

Community members are encourage to participate in a Public Consultation Centre to learn more about the project on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Newmarket Community Centre and Lions Hall (200 Doug Duncan Drive) in Hall #4.

The format of the PCC will be an open house where residents are invited to drop by anytime within the above noted timeframe to review the design, ask questions and provide feedback.

Representatives from the Town’s Engineering Services and the consulting engineers on the project (Ainley Group) will be available to answer any questions or concerns.
