Where Inspiration Lives on for Generations to Come

In the late 1800s, Sir William Mulock purchased what is known today as the Mulock Property. Despite the intention to serve as his summer home, the property soon became a frequent place for important meetings, special occasions, and social gatherings. The estate was famous for its vast property lines, precise upkeep and stunning beauty. In fact, the property was renowned as a land of flowers, trees and velvet lawns that captivated visitors. The property’s beauty was greatly acknowledged by all, including notable guests, such as Guglielmo Marconi, Sir Frederick Banting, Charles Best and even the Prince of Wales, Edward VIII.

Today, the property nestled in the middle of bustling Newmarket, provides a peek back in time. Although buildings and vehicles can be seen across the landscape, the peacefulness and tranquility of the Mulock Property outweighs the growing community just metres from the property line. This unique paradigm between past and present assists in the physical and memorable preservation of the history of the Town of Newmarket, setting the foundation for the future development of the Mulock Property into a community space.

The property’s best trait is arguably its ability to inspire any who visit. From the long, mysterious and winding driveway, to the walnut trees that reach the clouds, or even the structural integrity of the home, the Mulock Property will continue to inspire residents and visitors for generations to come. Comparable to the roots of the walnut trees, enthusiasm and history run well beneath the soil allowing all to appreciate how an extraordinary man gave so much to make his community well beyond the ordinary.
