📷 The Past

📷 Pictured: Black and white photograph of the Mulock addition with the iconic early 20th Century replacement verandah viewed from the southeast, 1939. Based on site investigations the brick was likely painted a creamy yellow with the veranda and gable trim work painted white. The shutters, visible here only on the library windows may have been painted green. The paint scheme existed at least since 1921. The paired corbelled chimneys have been replaced since this photograph was taken and the decorative barge boards have been removed. Note the veranda’s combination of round and square columns with visual emphasis at the corners and the end of the veranda where columns are grouped.
